Investment Bond

The Investment Bond (Bond) offers you choice and flexibility so you can tailor it to your specific needs and adapt it as your circumstances change.

What is the Investment Bond?

  • It is a single premium investment bond designed for investing your money over the medium to long term (at least 5 to 10 years).
  • The Bond may be a tax effective way of investing, depending on your individual circumstances. Speak to your Financial Adviser who will be able to discuss with you whether it is right for you.
  • You can hold a variety of investment funds within your Bond, which can help to spread investment risk.

What is special about our Investment Bond?

Real flexibility – our Bond is designed so you can adapt it as your needs and objectives change. You can allocate segments of your Bond to each of your investment goals and manage them separately.

Investment choice – access to over 160 carefully selected funds from our Tailored Selection (link) and 10 funds from our Elite Fund of Funds Range (link), expertly constructed by our Investment Manager.

Transparent charges – with free fund switches, top-ups, withdrawals and no exit penalties, we do not tie you in and you can see exactly what you are getting for your money.

You will pay Fund Management Charges and Fund Expenses depending on the fund choices you make. And with Flexible Adviser Remuneration you can agree with your Financial Adviser how you wish to pay for advice.

Complementary trust range – our Bond offers a comprehensive range of trusts to assist with inheritance tax planning. Speak to your Financial Adviser to determine whether investing under trust would be suitable for you.

What should you bear in mind?

Before making any decisions you should consider the points below, along with your individual circumstances:

Investing – all investments carry varying degrees of risk. When deciding where to invest you should bear in mind that:

  • the value of funds may go down as well as up,
  • fund values are not guaranteed, and
  • you may not get back the full amount invested.

Tax – this is a complex area and both your personal circumstances and the way the Investment Bond is managed can affect its tax effectiveness. Please ask your Financial Adviser to explain the tax implications for you and how you could manage the Investment Bond to assist tax planning.

Please be aware that tax and legislation are likely to change in the future. The information contained on this page is based on our understanding of current law and HM Revenue & Customs practice.

The value of any tax benefits will depend on your personal circumstances.
