Winterthur has added 70 new funds to its new Tailored Selection, offering IFAs more choice and flexibility for their clients’ investments.
The increased range of carefully selected investment funds will offer 70 new pension funds, 66 new onshore bond funds and 69 new offshore bond funds.
Launched in 1999, Winterthur’s Tailored Selection is designed for clients who, with help from their financial advisers, wish to make their own asset allocation and fund selection decisions. After investigating the market and recognising further opportunities, the Tailored Selection has undergone a refresh, offering access to new fund types and new fund groups amongst the pension, offshore and onshore sectors.
The Tailored Selection benefits from a number of unique approaches:
- Thorough and robust monitoring: Winterthur’s Investment Team, in conjunction with independent third party Old Broad Street Research*, researches, selects and monitors the fund universe using a rigorous process. External research and quantitative analysis is used to conduct a thorough qualitative analysis, before a reputation check is made.
- Strong governance: Access to a wide range of complementary funds, with a range of investment styles, from highly regarded fund managers – providing the building blocks to create the most appropriate portfolios.
- Flexibility: Fund choices can be switched at any time, free of charge, when needs and investment objectives change.
- More fund sectors: Access to funds in increasingly popular sectors including Asia Pacific, infrastructure, new investment houses, and absolute return funds.
- More ethical funds: AEGON Ethical Cautious Managed and AEGON Ethical Corporate Bond.
- More new boutique managers: such as Martin Currie and Resolution.
Martin Moore, head of investment distribution at Winterthur said: “This enhancement has taken into account adviser and client demand, and recognises the pace of change in the investment market and the increasingly complex needs of high net worth clients.”
