23 January 2008
Following a review of the current business model, AXA & Winterthur Wealth Management has announced three new senior appointments, as part of a new operating structure, with immediate effect.
The new model reinforces the delivery of two distinct investment offerings via the AXA Wealth Management and Winterthur propositions to mass affluent and high net worth individuals respectively. The appointments have been made to further develop the two main propositions to meet differing customer needs, whilst enabling a consistently high level of customer service to be achieved across the business. With the simplified structure, it also aims to benefit advisers, customers, stakeholders and staff.
The three new roles are:
- David Thompson, former managing director of Winterthur, has been appointed as managing director, sales and marketing, AXA & Winterthur Wealth Management. He will be accountable for all sales and marketing activities across the two propositions sharing best practice wherever possible, but still maintaining two separate brands in the market
- Nick Elphick, previously managing director of AXA Wealth Management, has been given the newly created role of chief operating officer. He will be responsible for all customer servicing and IT within AXA & Winterthur Wealth Management, with his prime focus being to build a strong service proposition across all areas of the wealth management business
- Tom Wilkinson is appointed director of strategy and proposition to provide a strong working relationship between strategy and product/ proposition across the whole of AXA & Winterthur Wealth Management.
Other positions within the business unit are remaining as they were – Dave Cheeseman maintains his finance role, Ian Colquhoun was recently appointed as MD of the new investment company, Paul Riddell will continue in his position as head of PR, and the role of wealth protection director is due to be filled shortly.
Mike Kellard, CEO, AXA & Winterthur Wealth Management said: "These new appointments and operating structure will deliver huge benefits for the wealth management business and to AXA Life and AXA UK. A more streamlined and robust structure will help us improve customer service, bring new products to market more quickly and help us respond more effectively to opportunities in the industry.
"Critically, both AXA Wealth Management and Winterthur will continue to be run as two separate propositions, as a reflection of the desire of advisers to work with specialist businesses within the AXA group."
