For Winterthur Awards ceremony, the show DOES go on

Every January, with the start of a new year, the attention of many is focused on the annual Golden Globe and Oscar ceremonies. But with the Golden Globes cancelled and the Oscars hanging in the balance, it falls on Winterthur to maintain the ceremonial standards with the announcement of this year’s Recognition Award winners.

Hosted by Mike Kellard, CEO, AXA & Winterthur Wealth Management, at Winterthur’s head office in Basingstoke the all-staff awards presentation recognises excellence in individual achievement. Winners and runner ups are honoured in the following categories:

• New Employee
• People Manager
• Team Member
• Service Excellence

Winterthur’s Recognition Scheme has been running for four years and provides an opportunity for staff to nominate colleagues for their outstanding achievements and impact on the success of the business during 2007.

Over a two-month period staff were invited to nominate colleagues from across the company in one of four award categories, each representing specific areas of excellence.

Nominations were collated and reviewed by a judging panel consisting of employees and two members of the company’s senior management team.

Results were as follows:

Winners received cash prizes of £1500 each, with runners-up each receiving £750.

After presenting the awards, Mike Kellard commented: “This scheme is our way of recognising the commitment and support that particular individuals bring to Winterthur on a day-to-day basis. It’s a great opportunity for staff throughout the business to acknowledge and reward their colleagues. Congratulations to the winners, runners-up and all the nominees for their hard work over what has been one of the busiest and most successful years of business for the company.
