Winterthur has launched a new technical support and online support offering to IFAs with Professional Edge Technical Support Team (PETS). Building on its reputation for financial technical excellence, the new Winterthur PETS unit replaces the former Technical Support Unit, and offers in-depth technical and product support with expanded and improved resources.
PETS is designed to provide advisers with a one-stop technical support centre. The unit will also help Winterthur maintain and continuously improve the sophisticated level of investment planning support it offers advisers and their clients.
The seven-strong team will advise on the whole range of life and pensions tax and technical issues that arise from the evolving legislation, and create fast, relevant outputs that inform, guide and add value to our advisers.
The team will ensure that Winterthur maintains a consistent interpretation of legislation and implements market leading propositions. It will deliver improved speed and accessibility to technical information.
Reporting to Nick Lee, Head of Marketing and Value Added Services, the newly-formed PETS team is managed by Jeremy Lee and consists of six team members – David Vine, Richard Farrell, Adam Cole, Paul Sims, Barbara Goddard and Elizabeth Ranger. The wider Professional Edge
team also includes Ben Crockford as IT Development Consultant who supports advisers’ IT and online technical needs.

Due to IFA demand and as part of their new role, the PETS team has taken ownership of Spotlight Technical (the monthly newsletter for Financial Advisers) together with other proactive services to support the sales process available through Winterthur’s Business Development Managers.
