Winterthur Life offer the ‘right choice’ in latest IFA workshops

17 August 2006

Winterthur Life has announced a new series of workshops, entitled ‘Making the right choice at retirement’, to update IFAs on new industry developments which have an impact on their client’s retirement requirements. The 33 workshops sessions will run throughout the UK from 25 September to 15 November conducted by Winterthur Life’s pension specialists Mike Morrison or Vince Smith-Hughes.

Mike Morrison, Winterthur Life’s pension strategy manager comments, “Lately, it’s hard to keep ahead of all the changes to regulation and business practice. Couple this with increasing demands from clients - in particular, high-net worth clients with very specific retirement needs - there’s certainly more for the IFA to deal with. The latest workshops have been designed to pin-point the salient issues and address the practicalities of turning them into opportunities for the client.”

Interactive sessions on investments and online services are also available. Covered by specialists in both Winterthur’s investment and IT development teams, these sessions are aimed to provide advisers with additional practical business solutions.

The workshops will be two and a half hours in length and cover the following topics:-
• Alternatively secured pensions (ASP) – the inheritance tax situation
• Unsecured pensions (USP) vs. annuity – What are the implications
• Benefits of building investment processes to under-pin retirement options
• Practical help on constructing portfolios for specific retirement needs.
